After a slow day yesterday where 5 fish were caught between 4 carpers i decided to go back for 3 hours and try again this morning . It was cloudy and not as cold as yesterday in an hour in a half i landed 7 fish and lost one due to a hook pull. After this i ran out of the oatmeal base pach and went to a panko pack ,after an hour and a half of nothing i decided to cut it off earlt .Its amazing how just a little change in baits can make you or break you . Todays fish really fought hard for some strange reason , everytime i hooked a fish i thought this is going to be a 20 but it was not to be . The biggest was the buffalo at about 15 lbs .Here are some pictures of the bigger ones ....

Good fishing... How's the fishing on white rock lake for carp? Looking for a good place to fish for carp near Dallas, what bait do you use? And what depth?

you should be able to get some carp just about anywhere, i like fishing near parking lots since they usually look to feed where other fisherman come . there are many baits you can use ,i learned mostly from youtube videos and hang out with other carp fisherman . As far as depth , the lake is basically a bowl with no creek channel per say .I would throw one as far as i can ,one at midrange and one close in then determine where to fish after hooking one . A easy bait to use is a few kernals of corn on the hook with a pack bait around your weight like old fashion oatmeal mixed with cream corn , grits and spices like paprika and cinnamin (sp) wet down the oats with the cream corn and let it sit for about 15 minutes before using or else it wont bind enough for you to be able to cast it .... the cream corn and oats is the base after that use whatever spice you like , they usually arent picky . the scented pack bait just makes it easier for them to find your hookbait contact me if you ever want company roflmao

Is fishing by white rock creek a good spot? There's parking lot there and seen people fish there. Can I put my 10ft boat there and gon upstream for a better chance for carp, or do I just cast on the lake?

That used to be a productive place years ago and i could always catch there but there was a while that there was tons of black decayed leaves that would float into your hook and the bite basically quit ,at least for me I have gone back there on several occasions and always blank so i decided just to quit fishing there . As far as fishing for carp off a boat you would need to anchor down front and back and use a slack line and wait till it tightens and set the hook . Its to easy to just fish off the bank and sit on a chair and watch your pole to even try from a boat in my opinion .I caught 9 today at the same spot i have been fishing . It is at Dreyfuss point facing south and throwing about 40 yards out . Go and get ya some they are there ....I will fish that spot till they quit biting then find another spot once they quit
