What do you think about a diesel pulling your boat?

Why don't you ask in the Tow Vehicle forum?

I pulled my Triton for years with 2 different Chevy Duramax trucks and never had any soot issues. No worries. You will be fine.

I have been driving a RAM Ecodiesel since February and have already put 30,000+ miles on it with about 27,000 of them pulling a boat. I have never had a single issue. BTW... That truck does get the advertised gas mileage. If you are interested in one, I have a buddy that owns a dealership that will make smokin deals for anglers. Message me or call for info.

You will be fine. ^this^ ...... if you are pouring out soot from your exhaust, then your truck has a problem. Some guys do it intentionally thinking it makes them look cool but it is a waste of fuel not to mention polluting the air

The new ones don't blow soot unless you modify them in some fashion. That's what the DEF is there to prevent. I pull my with a dodge 2500 cummins. No problem.

A stock diesel is not going roll coal unless it's a really old one. I've got an 05 Dmax tuned with EFI live and I don't have any problems with that when pulling my boat. If you get one and tune it, just make sure you get a tow tune and if tuned properly its not going to smoke.

I have pulled with different kinds of diesels never have had soot problems. The eco diesel pulling my boat averages 17 mpg. no boat I average 27. I know you asked Clark, but a second opinion doesn't hurt.

I have an 04 dodge with the 5.9 cummins. Soot has never been an issue. I get about 13-14 mpg pulling a 21ft bass boat. I havent driven one, but have heard some guys complain about lack of power with the eco diesel pulling a full size bass boat. Power is never an issue with the 3/4 ton trucks.
