we decided to try for gar on the nueces river. it was dec 1st and 56 degrees and overcast.  this was the chosen spot.  and this was the bait. first one to bite was this little guy  then this blue  and finally this 63inch gar  even though i was skunked and the wife had all the luck. i still had a great time watching her catch all the fish!

holy [censored] nice, i as thinking about making one last trip on a warmer day. i think i know a spot that they will be at, out of curiosity what is the depth of that spot vs the surrounding area? basically is that a deep hole they were in?
