Thanks for a great product Matthew! Back when I could actually fish, I could always count on some good numbers on Belton in the summer with your jigs.

Matthew is one AMAZING man and I can't explain how much his friendship/mentorship have meant to me in the last few years.
I'm honored Matthew trusts me to carry on the fine name of Jigum Jigs. I don't think many non-tying fishermen realize the work that goes into producing such a fine jig, not to mention 2 decades of blood, sweat, and tears that's gone into building this brand.
Matthew, you and I both know if you wouldn't have taught me your techniques and tricks of the trade, my jigs wouldn't be the quality they are today. When you offered to show me how to tie "the right way" I never imagined you'd improve my tying technique so much.
EDIT: (didn't mean to hit "Post")... Thanks so very much to my friends and customers for the support and God bless you Matthew, you mean the world to me, sir.

Congrats Matthew on the chance to retire from it all. Now you can just fish. Jerry is a great young man and will make you proud.

Congratulations to Matthew on Ur retirement. I only retired 3 times to finally get it done. Enjoyed meeting you at the G2G on Palestine and buying jigs that truly work. You were cooking "crappie cakes" there and I got hooked on them. Enjoy Ur retirement!
Using the site for a while...this is really great to share fishing ideas and success with others.

Dang Teasip, we just spoke on the phone night before last and you never said a word about this!!!! What's up with that????? For those that don't know, Matt retired about 4 years ago from his real job. Jig making has been his true love/hobby all these 20 plus past years. I'm proud to know him as a long time great friend and hope we have many more fishing trips together in the future!
You go, Teasip, U DA MAN!

I remember the first time I met Matthew. It was at a tackle show and after watching him tie, I remember thinking, "Wow, if he can tie jigs that fast with those huge fingers, I should be able to do better with my own tying."
Enjoy your retirement, Matthew.

Congrats Jerry T!!! Those of you who truly know Matthew have to know that he would not have handed the keys over without thinking it through, and he made a great choice. I could go into telling a story or two about Matthew but it might sound more like a eulogy which is completely unintentional (and he may not remember me, but he made a huge impression on me after my brother passed away) . I could also give a brief story about Jerry and I as I consider him family. But I won't. The bottom line is that both of these great men couldn't be more different, yet the same. They both have a passion for what they do that is unparalleled...you can bet on that. There will undoubtedly be those that support, question, or maybe even disagree with this entire thread. I would submit, that you can't say you respect Matthew without respecting this decision. I can tell you (and can't tell you...wink) that Jerry takes this responsibility seriously. The TFF will not find another person that breathes, eats, and sleeps his tying like Jerry does. The very first hand tied jigs I ever bought were from Matthew about 8 years ago and my box still has 100-150 of them....Jigum Jigs Catch Fish!!! They always have and they always will...and I can guarantee that Jerry will make sure of it.
I personally couldn't be happier for both of you!! We fisherman are all in this together. Let's just remember that and do our parts to lift each other up and not tear each other down (soap box jab...over now). God Bless you both and know we are behind y'all.
Chris

Congratulations on retiring. Your life now, if anything like my retirement, will probably be busier than ever. I do not know either one of you, but I have ordered Jigum Jigs over the last 3 years. Glad to hear the business will be carried on. Good luck to both of you.

Thank you all for the kind words. As stated I feel that my decision to step down was the right one, and consider Jerry the right choice to carry one the trademark. Once again my heartfelt thanks to all that have and will continue to support Jigum Jigs. Merry CHRISTmas
