I believe it. I've heard of people to release them on certain lakes that I won't mention but they are in lakes and many will swear against it because they have failed to see one. The truth is a gator will hardly come into open lake water, backs of creeks and such is where they will stay 99% of the time.

I have seen them in the back of rock creek between platter and lakeside and in Cumberland cut. The flood waters have really pushed them around and out of their normal areas. 1st one I ever saw on the lake was in the back of East Burns Run It was a little guy about 3-4' long no one would believe for the longest time no cell phone pics back then.

First gator I ever saw out of a zoo or TV was at lake pat's spillway. This was in the early 90's after the flooding in 89 that had everything closed because of high water. I remember because I was fishing at night and saw the eyes glowing in the lantern. We got the heck out of there once I spotted the blasted thing. It wouldn't surprise me at all if they got to Texoma in the last couple of decades.
I'm on other forums that deal with the old turbo powered Buicks.;)

I remember when they started showing up at fork when I was a kid. Had 4' swimming around our dock one night. I threw out a senko. He ate and I set the hook lol. Dudes are quick. They like watermelon red fleck. FYI
