Does anyone know of any Peacock Bass fishing in Costa Rica? I'm heading out there for a week.

There is a lake over there with rainbow bass, Jersey. But they look like giant tilapia. If I were going to Costa Rica and the time is right, I'd be targeting tarpon, amigo!

Saltwater is great this time of year. What town? Have you already book accommodations because they are near impossible to find right now (high busy season).

I have a buddy that did the "Rainbow Bass" thing and he said it wasn't that great. I would be catching sailfish until my arms fell off this time of year.

Caught a bunch of rooster fish, sail fish, yellow fin tuna, amberjack and snapper. The most fun I've ever had fishing by a long shot. my wife and I had a blast fishing there 2 days on the pacific side.

I was there this summer. I'm not Saltwater expert, but I guess Tarpon on Atlantic coast and Sailfish/Billfish on Pacific coast. We stayed in Quepos from San Jose. I highly recommend an offshore Sailfish trip with good chance at Marlin, Mahi-mahi, and Tuna. You can stop off on way back in for Snapper and Grouper. You can also book an inshore trip for Rooster. Watch video in my signature, I am now officially hooked on Billfish!

I would also recommend the offshore fishing.

I can't speak for the Peacock Bass in CR, but the offshore is unreal this time of year. We didn't go this year, but you will flat out wear your arms out on Sails. We usually catch a Marlin or two and plenty of Dorados as well. We fly to San Jose and stay at Los Suenos.

check out this Rooster Fish I caught yesterday in Costa Rica. I wonder how much this replica is going to costs.

I'm not aware of Peacocks down there, but can attest to the sailfishing...been twice & it was phenomenal both trips. Dorado were also plentiful and fun to catch.
