I had the pleasure of running this super nice 21' Sport for the owner of shallow sport for the new video. It was a blast and my better half sure made us look good on that boat. I run a Shallow Sport 21' sport and have for the last 3 years. This boat has impressed me on every trip. 4 people fully loaded and 5" of water, 3 people and running out to the reef for snapper... Its done it all. We even use my boat for duck hunts in back lakes (7 dozen decoys and 4 guys.... Boat is loaded down!!) Planning on ordering a new one very soon.

How would a boat like that do going to the Jetties in Galveston, or handle waves and wakes in the ship channel?
Just because you can, doesn't mean you should!

It handled big wakes pretty well. I do alot of tarpon stuff at the jetties and have no problem playing out there in them.

Going slow would be ok, running fast you might have some back problems. There isnt a perfect boat for the coast you must choose shallow or deep. I am not saying you cant go offshore in that boat you just have to choose your days. I had a flats boat that was almost sunk at the jettys, had a 21 kenner was stuck in bay often. I would get rides in several different boats and see what suits you.

These are self bailing hulls and will not sink if swamped Also the stingers are foam filled and I would find it hard to believe to would sink at all with the amount of foam in them.. I have taken a wave over the front before while tarpon fishing.. Just washed the deck off for us.
