Talks about guys getting information, looks like Clunn decided if you can't beat 'em, join 'em.

Good read. I heard that when IKE fished Conroe would hit like 40-50 brushpiles, cast 4-5x at most and then move to the next one. Not sure if that was fishing or really fishing but they way Clunn describes it I agree with. The one thing the pros do very well is eliminating water, but then again in a lot of tourneys 4-5 patterns will work, but 1-2 will have supremacy over the others.

I liked the article. Several nice subtle pokes from Clunn at the current state of tournament fishing.

I rode with Ike when he fished offshore stuff for the first few hours. He caught over 20# on day one, less on day two. He thought day 3 with the cloud cover was going to be great. When you are cranking offshore brush you want the sun shinning. He caught one small one.

He didn't fish anything you couldn't find easily with a small amount of time on side imaging.

The spot he fished in Caney the year he lost the fish off you could visually see. Usually it way off shore. With the lake down the flat point was out of the water. I had a GPS point on that for a long time. Never caught more than a couple. Low water and timing had it loaded.

They can figure out how to catch them in a couple of days a good percentage of the time. That or they starve to death.

When Rick found those spots guiding on Conroe the pixels on the depth finder were huge. A rock and a string was just about as effective. Now you can see minute detail.

I also rode with Gary Klein. He lived in Walden at one time. I think he said about 2 yrs. I never knew that. He knew a lot of spots that were great when he lived there. Spots he fished with Randy Fite and another couple of sticks from that era. Things change. Those spots were has beens. That's happened to a lot of spots on the lake. In the past you could hammer them there. Now you can't even catch a dink.

You have to evolve even if you have info.
