You don't have to dead-stick unless you want to. There are good concentrations of 10 to 16 inch white bass and 14 inch to legal sized hybrids on the usual main lake humps and points such as Spillway Hump, Merimac Point, Iron Wall Hump, Kevin's Point, Key Ranch Drop-off, Saint Anne's point East, Swing-set Hump and Flagpole Point. In addition to my previous reports I was out Saturday for 1 1/2 hrs and caught 37 and out yesterday afternoon from 2 til 5 pm and caught 77. About half the whites are big, fat females 14 to 17 inches. I'm catching all on #4 Mepps spinners - actually that's all I've tried. Fish are in 14 to 24 fow. I added the deeper depths because yesterday I tried and found them at Iron Wall Hump - all over it - in 23 to 25 fow. So far, this has been one of the best months this year for structure fishing.

Can someone please post a link to Mr. Christian's Cedar Creek map? I tried the search function, but could not find it.

in addition, for those without a boat on Cedar Creek (like me on occasion) i am catching the heck out of them from docks in 6 - 10 feet of water... in addition to Mepps #3, i am using white spinner bates with combo silver and gold blades - i am getting whites and hybrids from 4pm to dark when the baitfish are hitting the surface - last hybrid tonight was 22 inches and 6.2 lbs - shaped like a football that tom brady did not get to

Went out again today from 1:45 til 5 PM and found fish at Kevin's Point, where I ran into Don Novac of Luck-of-the-Irish Guide Service, and also found fish at Spillway Hump. Both in 15 to 19 fow. Forty-eight caught and released - still using #4 Mepps..

I'm planning on taking some buddies fishing in a couple weeks, planning on staying at Cherokee Landing. Sounds like I should have tackle box full of Mepps.

As always, great info Mr Christian, always enjoy reading your posts, learning something new every time. Thanks and keep those posts coming
Why do I go fishing? To catch a box of fish and/or some quality time under the sun. Thank Heaven I never fail fishing in Texas, catching box fish or plenty of sunburn.
