I do not crappie fish but today on Tawakoni we marked the most I ever saw and caught a few by accident north of the Wolfe humps in the middle of the submerged trees, they were literally solid there, lots of shad also.
They were suspended in the trees at about 12-20'

still there today, several over 2#
if you know the area almost to the n end of the submerged trees, lots of shad and birds working it there off and on, small chartreuse slabs casted you will lose a lot, just jig them.

For those who do not know the lake/area maybe this will help you guys out. Do not run big motor anywhere near here as there are so many underwater trees in the area.
N 32-50-785
W 95-57-159
No birds seen, tons of bait marked good fish, about 40' suspended 12-25', hope this will help somebody, Merry Christmas to all.

What a helpful report for those anglers that only get out a couple times a month and don't have time to look for fish, or aren't on the water enough to stay on the fish. Like I said earlier in this thread, there should be more of this on the forum, instead of the mentality that spots will get "fished out" if info like this is posted. The occasional fisherman is most likely not going to fish a hole out. And if you are an avid fisherman on this particular lake, then you may already be on these fish, or you are already on fish elsewhere and can disregard this info and don't have to worry about the "armada" that will soon deploy and eradicate the entire crappie population in Lake Tawak. Merry Christmas!
