My boss bought a house in Flower Mound ( Denton County) at the beginning of the year. He has a 1 acre pond with a maximum depth of 16 feet. It has bass, bluegills and turtles. I took the Bass Raider out there for the first time this evening and we noticed millions of dime to nickel sized freshwater jellyfish. 5 minutes of Google research show they are not very common, can't sting humans and are indicative of a healthy pond. I caught 5 or 6 healthy Largemouth Bass on Spro jigs after the Cowboy game.

Does anyone know if bass eat freshwater jellyfish?
Does anyone have experience with this?

Very interesting. I've been around ponds forever and have never seen these.

Can you post pictures of them?

According to literature, they seem harmless and may have arrived via ornamental plants.

Yeah, plus one on the cool factor.

Bass aren't going to eat any of those.

I've only seen them on rare occasion, once in a backyard koi pond.

Yes, name: Craspedacusta sowerbyi occupies a range of freshwater habitats. Most commonly found in shallow, slow moving or stagnant artificial water bodies such as ornamental ponds, reservoirs, gravel pits, and quarries. Google a mans best friend.

I was at a pond somewhere over in Celina and I thought I saw some in the pond but did not believe it. I wish I would have looked it up too because I bet that is what I was seeing!
