Caught a nice trout wading shallow with a biddy of mine(Mac Jank) in Matagorda.

Caught it on a Paul Brown (Mirrolure) FatBoy in pearl / black back. Since it was shallow I was walking the dog with it in about 18inches of water in shallow mud. She thumped it and it was on! I thought I had a redfish since she didn't come up at all, took drag from the very beginning, and never tail walked. Wasn't till she came up to the surface and showed her back that I saw the spots... TROUT! not my biggest but a good fish. Never get tired of catching them. It was my first time in this particular spot and it was a location that I found based on what our Big Trout DVD covers. It's funny, I've found even others and some friends big trout spots using that technique.

Shallow mud, very sparse grass, FatBoy in 18", walking the dog with it. Pre front but sorta stable weather pattern and on an outgoing tide (super weak at this location).

Nice man! I'm about to start hitting some mud for them soon. Later this week it should be on... Right after this next small front.

You been catching any trout in that 'deeper' water? I remember last winter they caught loads of fish there Andy.

Thanks guys. I appreciate it. Ya'll get out there and hunt them up. They are there.

Lately there's been a lot of fish moving into more of a spring like condition, there's a good chance that we might have an early spring. That said, there are a lot of big fish holding on the mud and areas that are secluded for some reason or another.

If anyone is in need of good intel or tips hit me up anytime.
