Caught around 30 yesterday. Biggest was 17 3/4". Smallest was around 14". The most fun I've had in years.

Went yesterday before the rain hit. There are plenty of fish 5 pounds and under. Fairfield is just not a lake you should expect to catch large fish. Plain and simple. The lake seems to be in great shape. Water temp was in the high 60's. Caught them flipping and on moving baits

Last year they were not running both stacks due to the mercury level threshold new air/water quality regs, might be the same deal.

That's my understanding too. New regs have forced them to run at a lower capacity. It has been about 10 degrees cooler than usual for this time of year, but the fish don't seem to mind at all.

We were there on Wednesday and lost count of how many 12-16 inch fish we caught. We had ONE over 18, it was 18.5. Lol. And we caught them everywhere. I started at the intake, cranking a DD22. There are a couple of humps there that ALWAYS hold fish. The wind started getting annoying so we went and flipped the wood in the SE end, again there were fish on almost every tree. I think you could catch them with a bare hook right now they were so aggressive. Lots of fun but be ready for not a lot of size.

That's Good to hear. The only thing i have heard about Fairfield in the past is the fish kills. Haven't seen a lot of post about the fish. May have to go check it out soon.

I'll take numbers in the 12 to 18 inch range with an occasional fatty thrown in. Keeps a smile on the face. I haven't fished there in a long time, pretty place though.
