Sounds like Lewisville has 0 desire to pony up the kind of money being talked about in the DMN article. Sad day.

That's exactly the way I read it, too. Kinda like they are turning their head to the fact there are cows in the pasture and the fence is bad, but they sure have cowboys on call to catch the cattle when they get out.

I don't think it's the City of Lewisville's problem to solve, foot the bill for repairs or worry about the citizens below the dam outside the City of Lewisville itself. This is a COE problem and all tax payers will pay for this. The cost for repairs is small compared to the $13 billion it cost to build the surge protector barriers around the city of New Orleans and the $38 million per year to maintain.

Check out Google Earth. The image of the dam where the slide is was taken prior to the May floods.

So on the news this morning they said 6.4mlion to fix the "slide". Hmmm. I should have bid on the repair. I think I could come in under that to add some dirt and rocks.

Somebody needs to get on it, and now.

Ever since that article was published the corp has been posting a couples times per day. They also have a town hall meeting scheduled to answer some questions.
