Went out with some buddies today and caught a mess of crappie. Most caught on brush in 10-25 feet of water on jigs.

Most came on black and gray (thanks slewfoot). Did catch quite a few on fools gold (brown and gold) from Jig'em before breaking it off.

We went out of lake palestine marina all the way back in saline bay by the 344 bridge. As we were headed out it was crazy how much bait was back in there shallow. 5-8 fow and just solid bait top to bottom. Hadnt fished the boat slips in a while thinking it was too shallow but dropped a jig in the stall after we got back and sure enough there were crappie in there. Nothing real big but got several 11-12" white crappie to go with some unders. Unfortunately all that rain we are supposed to get later today will likely push them all out.
