Had to drop the boat off yesterday at DSM for the new Garmin graphs, so booked Lance Vick AM and Justin Margraves PM. Seemed like a tough bite although bait, white bass, and largemouth stacked up off shore thick. I think White Bass are more aggressive to bite, so hard to weed through them and also get a sluggish Largemouth bite. That said both Lance and Justin did a great job getting me on bites. There are easy ways to catch numbers of small fish, but I always go for that 1 bite. No giants this time, but each counted for 5-10 bite half day with some small slots. So looking back 10+ fish day really not bad on Fork, I've had plenty of zero and couple bite days. The lake was loaded with boats, but I think 95% are Crappie fisherman. Glad to be back bass fishing after 4 months off hunting, stay tuned next week I have special trip planned.

SE Kansas grass grower 7608's. I have 2011 Ranger, so wanted to keep console pretty clean not going over 8". Really excited about the Panoptics and I'm a huge Garmin fan otherwise, just will have to see how much I miss over HDS 8's with mapping etc.

Awesome! The Panoptix takes some time on the water but it is really cool. I've already caught a fish that was by an underwater stump that I wouldn't have seen ahead of me if not for Panoptix. As far as the mapping, you'll be able to make your own 1' contour maps with QuickDraw if the lakes aren't HDID or LakeVu Ultra. I've been playing with the QuickDraw for about a month now on lakes that aren't mapped and it's pretty impressive that it maps while you fish. Or you can use a transom mounted transducer and map up to 20 mph or so.
