Is the power plant still running on this lake? It's been several years since I've been over there in the winter time. Thanks for the info

i dont think they are generating lately, from what I heard they are only gonna use that plant when demand exceeds what is provided elsewhere

I am curious about this. I noticed on the december 2 Texas fishing reports show that Monticello was 10+ degrees warmer than Bob Sandlin water temp? Must be something keeping that water temp up.

Yes, it's not generating unless we are in an extreme temperature situation high or low, it's a regular cold water lake now

Technically it's running. It's not pumping out tons of warm water, but in the cold the water is still low to mid 60s with 75 at the discharge. There is a light plume coming out of two stacks. I assume they are running a residual amount to keep from having to do a major ramp-up. There was a ton of activity hauling in coal to the plant on Sunday!

Look closely and you can see the whif from the stacks. Again, this was from Sunday (12/6):

Once my friend shared what they were getting bit on, it was good. A little slow, but good. I had tried the south end and the bridge with spoons, drop shot, a-rig, c-rig all to no avail. The north end was a bustle in the trees. Missed one on a jerk bait, but hen I picked up the wacky rig...

I stand corrected. If it's 75 at the discharge, that's the same as Welsh.

The plant runs 1 to 3 generators as needed. They must be expecting to run a lot this winter. They have a huge pile of coal already on location and adding to it every day. Over 100 carloads were unloaded today. I can see the plant from my home plus I had a much closer view today as I was crappie fishing.
