Which plastic worm would you recommend for a Texas rig this time of year? I normally use 7" Power worms, but thought I would ask and see what you guys recommend. Sometimes I get in a rut.

Zoom Fluke Stick

I try to stay away from curly tail worms this time of year because I figure that if fish are sluggish, then I don't want a lot of action in my bait. So I use this bait instead. It's the best of both worlds; shape of a worm but the tail of a fluke. Bass are still feeding on shad this time of year too. It's just a good bait for me and its an between bait with unique action. I typically only use an 1/8oz weight with it. It's kinda heavy so it'll sink on it's own.

Never fished a paddle tail, will add some of them to my arsenal. Pumpkinseed has become my favorite Power worm color Donald. Thanks for the replies and suggestions.

I like the looks of that worm. Where do you buy it? Couldn't find it at BPS or Tackle Warehouse. Didn't check Cabelas.

By hitting "Add To Cart" then "Checkout". :-)

dont have a brand name, but i use a shad colored worm with a curly tail when worm fishing this time of year - typically 6 inches at most - personally never had luck with a worm without a curly tail the way i fish them - i am on Cedar Creek and the water hasn't gotten too cold - to me this rig can mimic a wounded shad on the bottom or you can swim it as well...

Once the water temperature gets about 55 deg. or lower, a Zoom finesse worm on a light T-rig or jig head (I like 1/8 oz. in each) is hard to beat. Green pumpkin is my favorite color. There's something about that small 5" finesse worm that has caught many bass for many people.

In memory of my childhood friend Dan Sterling, who taught me at an early age how to catch bream with a hand-line, and who unknowingly hooked me on fishing for life.

You actually have it covered with the Power Worms you already have. Add some 10" Power Worms to your arsenal and you are set. Any colors you like....as long as they are Watermelon Candy and Blue Fleck!
