I was out there yesterday morning and late yesterday evening.
No fish being caught,,,,,
even the Lake Patrol had not talked to anyone catching fish...... "bass".
Crappie guy arrived at noon, left when I got back at 5 and he only caught 3 all day.
no wind, very dead, off colored water ...........
IDK,,,,, we'll see today.

I agree with you Nutman. I was out there for 5 hours last Saturday and only boated 2. Fished multiple depths and tried fishing my computers. Lake Athens is letting me down right now.

Thanks for the info guys. I was waiting for a few more reports before deciding. Looks like Fork it is.

Myself and a buddy fished it Monday from 8:00AM to 4:45PM...deep...shallow and everywhere between and did not get a single bite.

very tough fishing right now. Fork has to be better.

2 more hours again today,,,,,,early this morning,,,,,,,not a bite.
just a few boats,,,,,lots of guys standing around in the parking lot "talking",,,,,,not much fishing being done.
just my perspective,,,,,dnk why it is off.

The last time I was there it was a Monday and it was still warm. I only fished until 11am and when I left there were 22 other trucks and trailers in the parking lot, on a Monday.

I would say a good place to start with "what is wrong" is the pressure that lake has received over the past few years. I think you can probably figure out why the pressure has increased without me spelling it out...

IDK,,,,,,the fishing pressure this last year was not nearly as great as it was the previous 2 years. Plus fishing has been real good up until the last week or so. after the first big rain it was good, and even when it dropped back a foot or 2 it was still good, but after this last rain it is full, off color and the fishing has been extremely slow. Not much in the way of bait fish moving around or balling up.
Shad and bass have scattered pretty good. The usual weed beds are not even holding fish.

Rainfall for sure probably playing a big part in it. More on its way this weekend. Plus this warm December probably has them confused. How do fish normally respond when this happens. I haven't been in the fishing game toooo long so just curious on what you guys have experienced in the past.
