My family and I spent Saturday, 05 DEC on the Guadalupe River with SlabSeeker (Jack). His knowledge of the area and laid-back personality made for a great trip for everyone. It was only my wife's second time fishing, and her first time to be on a boat, but she had a great time. We are all looking forward to taking another trip with Jack in February.

I didn't keep track of how many fish we caught, but we kept 15. We were catching mostly white crappie, and on average, they seemed a good bit bigger than the black crappie we've been catching on Lake Lewisville. I'm not sure if was a difference between black and white crappie, or just indicative of the fish on the Guadalupe river.

My family and I had a great time, and look forward to doing it again. I think if we had a place to put it, my wife would let me start looking for a boat of our own.

plugchunker, the bait that seemed to work the best was called a Ginger Snap made by dans jigs. See the link below for a picture of what it looks like

Slabkeeper...really nice fish...Couple questions...what part of the Guadalupe were you fishing...Dunlap, McQueeney, Placid or other ? Second question...are you a guide for this area, or were you just taking friends out for a good fishing trip ?? Thanks...Vogey

Vogey,
We were fishing Placid. And yes, I'm a guide if I'm not mistaking, I may be the only one who runs crappie trips in this area. Thanks for the compliments on the fish. My cell number is 210-510-9979 if I can be of any assistance to you. Not necessarily to book a trip but if you just want to talk fishing. That's my favorite subject.

I am interested in Dunlap trips and rates. Have always wanted to fish her. Just don't want to pull my old rig down I-35 at 70 mph.

Also want to fish out of your sweet tracker. Would like to buy one in a few years after I pay off my truck.
