Last I checked the lake is up 15 feet, but I decided to go out and drift in my kayak to see if I could scrape up a blue or two. Got on the lake and the wind just absolutely died. Ended up fishing a submerged treeline and caught some nice channel cats. I'm new to the lake, but all the channel cats I've caught have been really healthy. It was neat to be floating along at treetop level.

Did you have any trouble catching bait?

I was using bait that I'd caught earlier and frozen. The ramps were way under water, and the water by the shore is very shallow for a while, at least where I was, so catching fresh bait might pose a problem. I took my net along but didn't even try to throw it.

All the bait I found last week was on the main lake in 15-17 FOW

I've not been able to figure out how to throw my net from the yak as of yet. It's a Pelican castaway, so stable it is not.
