Location, Location, Location
An Upshur County game warden was out patrolling on an ATV when he received an Operation Game Thief call. The anonymous caller said a suspect was selling crappie across the street from the Game Warden office. The warden headed to the office, and as he pulled into the parking lot, he saw the suspect moving a cooler in the trunk of his vehicle. When the warden questioned him, the suspect admitted to selling crappie. After seizing 24 quart bags with 174 crappie fillets, the warden filed citations and civil restitution

The driving force and secret desire of every bass fisherman, is to one day be a crappie fisherman............Could it be that the good Lord just smilies and looks the other way when a fisherman tells a lie?

So how much was he charging per bag?

Hope he was getting a lot so he can use that money for the fines and restitution.

Is there an actual set charge amount per fish? Something like $50 each or so?

There used to be a list of what the state valued game taken illegally. I remember a black bass was valued at 200 plus dollars. So a crappie has got to be worth more than that!

I am pretty sure there are plenty of people that fish where I fish that sell fish. Now I am not sure if they are dumb enough to do it across from the game wardens office, are there different levels of stupid? LOL... WOW!

I am curious why someone doesn't sell farm raised crappie? If you could get them to eat off pellet food I would think there would be a big market for them......

Across from the wardens office may be the best place, that is one place you don't see them, as this time of year they have a lot to do. Sapalmer, in a word they grow to slow to grow out to size.
