Nice catch. I haven't caught pumpkinseed in a long time. Would love to find some myself.

Went with a few buddies Saturday at my new spot and caught 28 with them. Pictures? I'd like to see them too, Pumpkins are further North and East except for stocked private water. Redears look similar to Pumpkins

Pumpkinseed are not found in Texas. The water is too warm. You caught a mess of longear sunfish. Compare the photos. The bottom one is the Pumpkinseed

I am not sure what species some were hybrid bluegill/redears.

I've never seen a pumpkinseed in Texas...and would love to have them in a pond....but the water is just too hot here.
