We lost the keys to our 2014 Ford Escape. I need to have some new ones made. The dealer wants about $400 for 2 new keys but says the car has to be at the dealer to make them, so gonna have to tow it. Pop a lock will make one for $320.
Anybody have any advice, don't something similar etc.
Trying to figure out my best plan of action.

Did you get it figured out? I know on my ford truck if I use the key I had made for emergency door unlockings it will throw the alarm on. I'm not sure how these trucks are stolen so easy.

Yes sir all done all that's left to do is pick it up and pay the man.
Had it towed to the dealer.
For any ford owner, it is nice to know that if your car is still under any kind of factory warranty (less than 60k miles) ford will bring you gas if you run out, tow it to the nearest dealer, or pay for a pop a lock guy to come get your keys out for free... well you paid for it im sure, but they wont charge you again)
Two keys from the dealer is $400. If it were a chevy I wonder if they could have just used onstar to start my car and let me drive it to the dealer?

Been there, done that. Lost my key when truck was new. Dealer cost for one key, $239.00. I learned pretty fast. Bought some keys off Ebay and had them cut at local locksmith, on mine if you have two working keys you can program them your self, takes about 45 seconds. These keys including having them cut were less than $40.00 each. The dealer charged $85.00 just to program the key I got from them. b
If I'm not fishing or hunting I'm hunting a place to fish or hunt.
