Took out the yak, long story short dumped over in the middle of Lake Worth. Lost everything; cast net, all my tackle,$100 combo, my pants and broke my phone. Thankfully the Lord kept his watchful eye out for me. 2 fellow yakkers heard me yelling and came to get me. The boat was filled with water so they had to drag me back. I was in the water for close to 45 minutes and was close to getting hypothermia. These awesome dudes took me to my truck and even loaded my yak for me while I got the purple out of my hands. If these guys weren't there I could've ended up in much worst condition. I'm pretty sure they were bass fishermen, ones name was Jared but I didn't catch the others name. Anyways, I wanted to thank these guys and hopefully they're on the TFF.

Man you are blessed. I'm glad to hear you made it back safe.
If the fish don't bite your not baiting right...

Good to hear you are OK. Thank goodness for kind and fellow yakers that helped you out. I watch that show Pacific Warriors and they got all their gear very well strapped down or with lanyards in case the are dumped. I saw an episode where one of them took a swim and he was able to retain all his gear. I have also soaked 2 phones that were unrecoverable. The wife bought me waterproof storage for my electronics that she strongly insists that I use every time I go fishing now. After spending lots of money to replace stuff I now am constantly looking for ways to mitigate risks. Money and time that are spent worthwhile. I know that this won't help you replace your stuff, but hopefully ideas will help you in the future. Fab

Thanks a ton man. It's one of those cliche situations "this'll never happen to me". I was wrong but I definitely need to take that extra precaution just in case it does again. But we all live and learn I guess! Just thankful to still be here.
