This is the first season for my smoker I'm still learning, I love the results with this unit.
I've noticed a drop off on my temp inside while I rasie the temp on the thermostat it won't respond like it used to.. Do you scrub the element or the sensor to get it back. It would go over 275-300 now it's 160-200 on those settings... Just curious if someone can enlighten me... grin

I would call Masterbuilt Red. See how good their customer service is. If the machine is still under warranty, you for sure want to check that out too.

Yeah it's strange, (it would get) hotter than you'd want. I'd have to keep an eye on the temp and adjust as needed. Now-I just set it and hope it gets to 200-225... I went to the masterbuilt website, not very helpful. I'll call today and see how it goes... thumb

They told me to scoth brite the temp sensor next the control knob. I have spilt liquids on it or near it. If that don't fix it, they'll send me a new element... thumb My unit is analog, not digital, two different animals...
Hadn't got to try it yet, been stuck in the city, Christmas parties and such...Tis the season, we'll get back to Fork next week...

My digital control unit if messed up and only shows partial numbers. I should call them and see what say about it. They might replace it who knows.

It is worth a shot. The only time I think about it is when I'm using it occasionally on the weekends. I need to write myself a note.

I called them and they wanted to sell me a new control panel for 49.00. I told her no. I'm not putting that into a 10 year old smoker.
