Gonna get to go fishing with my daughter on the 10th and I want to take her some where she can catch some fish. Has anyone been to PK or Leon lately? How is the water color and are the fish biting?

Went to Leon the day before thanksgiving and didn't have a single bite, might have been the new boat curse though.
There were leaves everywhere from falling off the trees, the water was stained, maybe a foot visibility, had lots of small debri in the water and the water temp was 59*
I hope that helps you a little bit

Had a tournament at Leon on weekend before Thanksgiving. Took 11 to win and the team that won said they caught 20-30 fish all small though. I only caught 6 and everybody else said they only caught 5-10 and a couple blanks. Water was pretty stained everywhere and will probably be worse now, only 60 then so probably mid 50's by now. It was 4ft high after all the rain and now its dropped back down some. Gonna be a tough bite.
Haven't been to PK since October so I couldn't tell you much about it and haven't seen much on here either. Hope this helps some

Thanks for the info. Leon has been fishing tough since the spring rain and was hoping that it had bounced back but I guess not. Sounds like maybe PK will be a better bet. I haven't got to fish with my daughter in a couple years and I want to make sure she has the best chance at catching something.

If you go to Leon focus on fishing from the arm that Honey Hole fished up to the dam... Anything past that will be really dirty. Go all the way up that arm and fish the culvert/bridge and go left towards the docks. Throw a rattletrap and reel it slowwwwwwww! I was even using the "yo-yo" technique with it and getting bites. Then pitch a jig and a drop shot around those docks all the out. Up by the dam ramp there is a lot of flooded cover that only around 3-5ft but that's where that tournament was won.
If you go to PK I would focus on the backs of the creeks with a rattletrap or a crankbait, and find some rock. Lots of new stuff to fish with all the rain we've had lately. Good luck
