Me and a buddy are wanting to head out to the lake in the morning since the weather is supposed to be great, but recently just found out about the crazy flooding. I already called the state park and they said the ramp was open but is it safe to go out and if so would it be worth the hour and a half trip, meaning is the fishing going to be any good? We were gonna try and catch some blues. And is anyone having luck catching shad. Thanks and have a great day!

Just an update, I ended up drift fishing off the point by thousand trails in about 20-35ft, caught 10 really nice eating blues, nothing big though. Was a beautiful day to be on the water, I totally stopped drifting for about an hour, that doesn't happen often. I feel like I could have caught a lot more but we were limited to shrimp and weenies. Couldn't catch any shad. I'll have better days, hopping to land my first big one this winter.
Good luck out there!
