Thanks guys. That is both a Zonker strip and a Crosscut strip! Zonker being the tail and for you that don't know the Crosscut strip has the hair coming off the side of the hide where the Zonker comes off inline with the hide.

Which produces more action on a lift and let flutter down retrieve,
the Zonker or the Crosscut.
Is Crosscut for bulk and the Zonker more of a stream line?

It really has to do with how the hair comes off the hide. If you look at the little Roadrunners I tied with this material in the other post, that is just crosscut and that alone is enough to make a nice jig. The zonker of wrapped around the shank like I did the crosscut the hair would stick straight out. It's done for some types of flies for the different effect. I have also tied jigs that have a chenille body and a zonker tail and that is fine too. Some like a longer tail and some shorter and it's just a matter of how long the piece is that you tie in, but can't get shorter than just a crosscut and very good jig!

Jigmo, don't think it matters as they would be about the same. I have over the years use very little zonkers, but a big fan of cross cut rabbit hair. The way I use it is no tail but back it up some from what Skip's jig is and then use chenille in front of it. It is a good tight line jig that way. The secret of this type of jig is a good hook, it needs to have 56-57% of weight on bottom and the same out front of jig head.
