Good morning,
I am planning to fish tawakoni this weekend for the first time. I normally fish from my boat but after the posts about how dangerous it is above pool level I have decided to bank it. Any information Ina decent bank fishing area would be greatly appreciated. I'm taking my 10 year old son:)

Thanks
James

What has happed to you does not define who you are-

HOW you react to what happens to you DOES!

If you have 4wd vehicle go to anchor inn marina at west end of Two Miles Bridge and fish the south end point called Arm Point, fish the old boat ramp at the point for white bass and yellow bass in the morning and blues in the evening... Or fish at the big old tree stump cast left of the stump for channel cats, cast to right for blues and occasional hybrid. .. Please be very careful with the boy around the boat ramp with water this high....

Wind Point Park on the north end of the lake in Lone Oak is a good alternative option for small children and you don't need 4wd to get around. There's a little playground for children and a lighted fishing pier or you can fish at boat ramp... there is a point just to the right of boat ramp but it is under water now, again be careful bank is steep 6-7 food dropoff
... bring your camera there are plenty of deers roaming the park in late afternoon. Hope this help and wish you and your boy the best of luck and have fun cheers

Why do I go fishing? To catch a box of fish and/or some quality time under the sun. Thank Heaven I never fail fishing in Texas, catching box fish or plenty of sunburn.

For bait try the boat ramp or the old boat ramp just south of fishing pier, late morning or afternoon usually produce good shad...

That's great advice you have no idea how much we appreciate it. For shad the ramp you were referring to is at wind point ?? We will certainly post pics smile

Yes Wind Point Park boat ramps, but can also catch good shad at Arm Point Park boat ramps, look for fish activities before you cast, catch gizzard shad on first or second throws at the ramp then they're gone, the marina bridge is also good for hooker sized shad... thumb

I wore fish at wind point park using chicken breast. I have a boat, but fish were all over the place there. Good luck!
