Hi Folks, Need a little advice. We moved to Canyon Lake in August and I started learning to fly fish. Had a ball catching panfish in our cove across from Comal Park until cooler weather drove them to deeper water. Now I'm thinking catfish just to put something in the frying pan. I love my fly rod but own other types of tackle so that's not a problem. Suggestions for taking some cats on this lake in December? John

Boat or Bank? Do not be afraid to use chicken breast as bait, it works there.

When I go to my grandmas there in summer time, I fish along the bank of boat ramp 6. Normally catch 2 cats in a few hours. Its a hard lake to fish. I normally use big marvs cheese punch bait in boat and on bank. Sometimes I use cut up perch but I use stink bait year round. Hope that helps.

Both boat and shore. I picked up a little 9' inflatable pontoon boat complete with electric trolling motor to get me out into the deeper water. I have access to a POA park across from Comal Park. I appreciate all the advice. I'll put it to good use.
