Being new to Lake Buchanan fishing in the winter I was hoping for some guidance. Anyone care to share the pattern for stripers for the next few months and what bait or lures to use? Hoping to do some winter fishing this year.
Thanks

You might try looking thru previous postings on ABF for some Buchanan hints or ask for suggestions:

Thanks for the tip and link. Not much for that time of year. It looks like soaking live bait might be the best. Not sure about winter depth or area of lake to fish. We will experiment.

Fishing is pretty hot right now. I fish primarily on the south end but look for humps in 20-25 ft of water.

I would think you can launch anywhere you want.

Llano County park is a good ramp on the west side. Big Chief Resort has a ramp as well. They charge $5 but it is more secure.

Fished yesterday 7am til 4pm. Poor day. Saw 10 boats total. Looked and fished many humps and points in 20-25 feet and they were all empty of life. Marked quite a few fish in 30-40' and could not get them to take live bait or slabs. 3 small blues were all we caught. Absolute beautiful day on the lake and the water looks great.
