 Need help with humminbird unit

I recently had a 798 and was using a lakemaster south chip in it that worked great but I've had to replace the unit with a 698 in which I can not get the lakemaster chip to sync up with... Don't know if the chip is just not compatible or I'm missing a setting to make it recognize it

I've tried what I know to my ability which isn't very advanced ha-ha but im just not seeing the option but like I said it's to the best of my knowledge

According to Humminbird's page on the unit it says: "Humminbird Mapping:Optional, Navionics Gold/HotMaps:Optional" So it should allow lakemaster. What happens when you are on the map screen and you insert the map card? Does it say "loading maps." or something of that nature?

The 698 replaced both the 598 and 798 and has the same sonar/GPS/mapping capabilites, just a poorer display for Side Imaging since it is narrow.
Settings are the same. The unit should automatically read the Lakemaster card when inserted.
Check the main Chart Menu to see if you have a Chart Select setting that needs to be changed.
You should have that setting whether you have User Mode set to Normal or Advanced.
If that doesn't work, you have a faulty card reader if you haven't damaged your map card.

The list is over 2 years old. They don't even show the other units being discontinued this year like the 1199ci HD SI Combo and all the other XX9 models.

Additionally this is one of the latest software releases and the one after that added support for AutoChart PC and Zero Line map cards. http://www.humminbird.com/Category/Support/FAQ/7-520/One more thing, install the current software if it doesn't have it.

Have a blank sd card. Go to hummingbird web site and register your unit. Put sd card in your computer slot and search updates for your unit then follow directions to upload the update. Remove card and follow directions to upload the update to your unit.
FISHING NOW NOT WORKING ANYMORE
