If I get low fuel on one of my tanks every time I go to throttle she dies. But then if I change to my other tank which is full of gas she dies. Does anyone know about this. Is there water maybe deep in the gas reservoir ? Any advice on this is helpful! Thanks

There is a toggle switch on your dash and a manual valve down in front of the seat.If you switch your toggle from port tank to Starboard tank you have to do the same with the manual valve. If you don`t switch the manual valve you will still be running on the fumes of the empty tank.No matter how much you squeez your primer bulb it will still die on you.The manual valve is between the driver seat & the passenger seat near the floor drain. Hope this helps you.

Try a remote tank if all else fails.

not all Rangers have the same config.. Mine has tanks in the rear compartment and the switch is manual only on top of the splash well on the port side. Some like yours have the tank under the seats. Model number would be helpful here.

I just assumed since we both have the same year Rangers and same engines ,maybe his issue was similar to the issue I had.It was just an assumption.Maybe he has solved the problem he hasn`t acknowledged any of our responses. hmmm

Sorry for late response boys. I have a Ranger 1989 354v my tank switch is around the back. Like stump jumper just with a Manual deal that turns. I haven't seen any switches. I've had the boat for two years now. But this year I've really been running her and fishin a lot.

I would suspect the fuel lines. The only switch is to change tanks on the gauge.

I replaced most of mine with ethanol resistant long ago. The only ones I did not replace were the ones coming off the switch. I would have to take the portside tank out to do it. I added a filter between the tanks and the motor. I have had no gas related problems since. I just went with a simple inline filter. but you could go with a water separating one.
