Anyone have any info on Lake LBJ? I've never fished there and looking for general information. How much vegetation is on the lake? What's the current water temperature?

Anything would be helpful.

You can PM if needed.

I love fishing LBJ but haven't been out there since February

Last winter we were catching them pretty good on humps and points with grass, mostly on the south end of the lake. Grass along the dam was always a good go-to

Up river, there are some deep rock piles we catch fish on as well in the winter

I've always been interested in fly fishing for Bluegill and sunfish on Lake LBJ. Lots of record fish have been caught in that lake. Any advise on areas to search?

I'll call today a success for our initial trip to LBJ. We caught about 20 but only 5 legal bass for about 10.5lbs. The largest one being 2.75lbs. It stayed overcast all day with a light north wind. Water temps started at 58F and as high as 61F late in the day. While we caught fish, there was no real pattern to how or where we caught them. It seemed most of the fish were in 6-8ft of water near transitions to deeper water. Now....for baits....really, no kidding. Spinnerbaits, swim jigs, rattle traps, square bills, hard jerkbaits, dropshot, shakeyhead, and even a small silver spoon.

Quality bass up the river get you a finesse jig in brown or PB&J and go to work around the docks plenty of good rock piles to drop shot and throw cranks and football jigs on as well. I landed the 11.67 in my sig up the river in 2012

Sounds about right... seems to me you find an AREA with fish there and you gotta swap it around to catch them... Have made a pass over an area, caught figh on a trap, come back and catch them flipping and then swimbait on the way out....

I love that lake though, well at least in the winter/spring, not crowded then
