As I get older and my hands tend to hurt a little more, what is the easiest way change out hooks from those little split rings, I am sure there is a tool just for that, have a lot to change out and it is time to do so

Texas Tackle split ring pliers. Very easy. One handed even. You can change both hooks and rings one handed, while bouncing in 3 foot waves in under a minute. Half that time with both hands and smooth water. Haha.

I bought a pair of split ring pliers from Barlows, he said they where the best ones he knew of, I think they where $16 or $18, it has made changing split rings a piece of cake for me.

Academy has some that are small cheap and made well. Like $8 and they make the job easy!

Mustad Heavy Duty Pliers Give these a try. These have been the only ones that have held up after tons of abuse. I change out hooks and split rings A LOT! Way more than anyl angler should, these have held up to it all. They're comfortable in your hand too. And if you can't get a good grip on pliers, we all know how frustrating it can be.

I have a pair of Rapala ones that work ok.
Would not suggest them, I am sure there are better ones. They do the job but its still a pain and the rubber handle on the grip came "unstuck" from the handle and now rotates... So I have to hold the pliers and hold the grip to the pliers.
Made in China junk ha ha.

If increasing the hook size is so important on crank baits, why aren't manufactures just putting bigger hooks on to begin with? I guess the easy answer is that it would cost them more, but wouldn't people buy more of the brand that has the right size hooks on to begin with?

I might swap from a triple grip to a round bend depending on how they are eating it. Not to mention there are so many brands/styles out there you would never satisfy everyone.
