FYI...Poking around on Bass Pro's website and came across the new Elite 7 Ti Total Scan. Touch interface, wirelesss, sidescan, 2D and downscan for $799. There is not a lot of information in the description and it is not yet listed on Lowrance's products page. There is also another elite 7 version and a new 9 inch version coming.

I don't understand the $200 for 2" price point.

You are going to see that range on any manufacture....

The advantages of an oligopoly. Take a few dollars worth of materials and rake in some huge profits. Garmin and others getting into the game have made things more competitive but there is a lot more to do. Unfortunately, it looks like this is going to stifle the competition:

Yep, Humminbird keeps it simple and others simply follow and just get to caught up in trying to compete. History shows this.
