Hi I am new to tournament fishing and was wondering what maps I should get for my chart plotter or should I just use what the unit comes with any information would be great

depends on what unit you buy. Some come with really good maps already on them. What sonar/chart plotter you using?

The premium south card is a great product, but another option would also be the Nav+ card so that you can take advantage of the Sonar Charts layer, even better if you have any kind of old mapping card now, no matter the brand, you can buy an updates chip for $99 and it will become your Nav+ card. The new Nav+ card is preloaded @ 16GB so you will need to purge the card and keep the data you load to 2GB so that it will work in that unit, but it will allow you to have the best mapping out there.
