Does anyone know where I can send this to be fixed? The unit will power up and will work, but the touch screen won't recognize any touches, so it's pretty much useless. Lowrance won't touch it...they'll only replace it at my expense.

I prefer somewhere in/around the Houston area.

Thank you

Why would Lowrance not service their own product?

They'll swap out my broken one for a refurbed one for $725.00, but they won't fix my current one. Granted that's a lot cheaper than a new one, but it's still more than I can pay.

Humminbird will fix a touch screen that I broke for less than $725?

They're providing a new one at less cost than it would be for them to repair his product. Isn't a new unit for $725 better than them offering him a screen replacement for $1000?

Try one of the cell phone/tablet repair places that deal with cracked screens. You never know!

That screen must have a VERY realistic picture of the water column for you to want to throw a crankbait into it!bolt

Just kidding. I know that's gotta suck.

I did the exact same thing about a year but with 10XD, Lowrance 7 hdi it was about an hour old. Called Lowrance, nothing they can do, only found one guy on ebay that would mess with it. I replaced the glass myself, lights come on, but no display. Makes a great paperweight.

I have never owned anything but a Lowrance and their service does suck! I think I'm done with them.

Was it insured through your boat insurance? File it and pay the $500 deductible... Just a thought. That'll save you $250 more.

That sucks. This won't get you a new screen, but you're not the only person that's done something like that. A guide told me that a client of his was throwing a Carolina rig when he rared back to cast and the 1oz sinker destroyed his HDS12. It happens.

My 10 Gen 2 (non-touch) burned up in the rain. Insurance covered all except the deductible. Lowrance offered me a new 9 touch Gen 2 for $700 or a 12 for $900. Not refurb. Well worth with the insurance coverage. However I had to prove wasn't neglect or my fault prior to the insurance paying. Unit was sent out and Navico sent me the result from factory in Mx.

Thats how good the pics are on the Lawrence, He's cast right at it. I would do it for the 750.00. Or but a 10yr old Lawrence on ebay for 15.00 still better than a Hummingbird.
