Getting older and really can't 'see the line' all the time. Does using a high visibility line, i.e., Yellow, prevent bites ? Opinions..please God Bless

More & more fishermen are using braid on all their reels then tying on 10-15' of fluorocarbon as a leader. Use a double uni or Alberto knot to join them. You get the added benefit of being able to see the braid plus the low stretch. Try 30# yellow Suffix 832 with a 12-15# leader on bait casters. Works very well.

A few years back I used yellow line and caught as many fish on it as clear or green line. I used it in stained water to be able to see it. Still have some, just got away from it. No reason why. Just try it and see if you can see it better and if you like it.
Never test the depth of the water with both feet.

I use high vis yellow mono all the time with a clear leader. You can't really see if under the water in these stained North Texas lakes.

Thanks all. Want to try but, wasn't sure if this is something just used for 'fly fishermen'...or northern fishermen. Everyone always says, "watch your line, especially on the drop of your bait", well...have to be able to see it. Maybe this will help God Bless Lee

I use a hi-vis Sufix 832 braid attached to about an 8' invisible fluorocarbon leader. Strong and sensitive.
I do like to see the braid well as it lies on top of the water.
Fish? Some saltwater fish are notoriously line shy. In fresh water, blue gills and red ears don't care, at all, about line color; crappies are known to be more picky.
I think bass line up sort of in the middle here. But, when they are biting slow, under pressure, etc., I think the fluorocarbon leader likely helps in clearer water.

I use yellow and multi-color braids on most all my rigs. If I need to add a mono leader of fluorocarbon or nylon, I only use 3'-4' of it. I do not want the mono to be on the reel for the same reason I don't use straight nylon or fluorocarbon (MEMORY) Even yellow is hard for me to see on rainy/cloudy days so I add some red dye to have contrasting colors and that works very well:

I use yellow braid quite a bit now(happened to find some on sale) and I like the extra "visibility" I get while flipping. I use the "sharpie trick" by coloring the last 3-4'(like I do with green as well) and at least to me it seems to instantly disappear. I saw an article recently where one of the BASS Pros was using "pink" braided line and he said it was because he was trying to find yellow but no one had any where they were at.

Some days a situation where using braid might impact the number of bites is where you are casting past a target. Then it might prevent a bite from a bass that is spooky or stressed. But I've caught'em casting deep-diving crankbaits on braid.
