with the holidays coming up my in box is being crammed full of emails for holiday sales. some of them come multiple days a week. they are all fishing related from companies that I have never heard of. I was just wondering if anyone else was getting them and new which company was selling off email addresses so I can stop doing business with them

oh yeah! .....Your email address was probably sold
Happens...use a google or any other than your main email address (there are many to chose from) to do on line shopping, etc.
Just use your personal email for just that - personal email

God Bless
Lee

There are companies that gather your info based on searches made from your computer. That information is then used/sold to solicit to you specifically. Even on this site notice the ads. They will be targeted to you or your search profile. The only way to stop it is to turn off "cookies" The bad part is you will have to reenter your passcode on any site your visit as it will not remember you.

Usually at the bottom of the emails you can hit unsubscribe. It is a pain, but it can put an end to the spam emails

Doesn't the TFF have to allow this? I think many forums allow those to earn a bit of revenue.

Never, never click the unsubscribe at the bottom of the email. All that does is confirm that they have a valid email address and you go into an even bigger bucket and will get even more spam.

Not true at all. I have unsubscribed on a bunch and the amount I receive now is way less than before.

Virtually every company shares customer info. It's unavoidable.

Unsubscribing is usually fair. However, if it's fishing related I want it! Even if its an ad - why not, at least it's about something I am interested in. Beats the Dollar Shave Club or other things I am not interested in. Only takes a half second to delete and who knows it might be something I want or want to learn!
