I hadn't had any luck the last few times I went to the pond I fish. I had Wednesday off and spent most of the day running errands. I got through about 3:30 and since it had been warm for a couple of days I decided to try my luck for an hour or so.

I got to the pond a little after 4. It was kind of windy and my casting stinks, but I did manage to fool this guy with a beadhead woolly bugger

I didn't have my tape measure with me but I lined it up on my rod and checked when it when I got home and it was about 13".

I had to play the fish some to land it. If I would have caught it on a baitcaster it would of looked like it was on a jet ski when it got reeled in. Thats one of the things I like about fly fishing.

With the casting, a little instruction and a lot of practice will get you there. You did well enough to catch a nice fish well done! What weight rod is that?

Pretty fish. I like the dark, mossy green color those pond bass get. Good work.
