Me personally,I have a 45lb thrust up front and 3hp motor on the back of my 8fter and have had no issues at all in creeks or any small lake with this set up however,I am reluctant to venture out in windy conditions.

Gander is over priced big time. Academy has better pricing. I have the 8ft and use my 1.5hp cruise n carry. I plan to build the transom up and put on a 4hp merc on. I like the 8ft but wish I had the 10ft.

No problem. It's a very nice boat that you won't have to worry about capsizing. It will stay floating even when the hull is full of water.

they are light so you dont need much thrust for the trolling motor, just a good battery. You could probably find a cheap trolling motor used, maybe around 35lbs thrust. fish finder, I'd look more at screen size. Features are more of a personal choice. Humminbird and Lowrance have some good small units
