How much more rain(if any) is needed to negate the drought? I know the lakes are full or overflowing but as soon as this storm water goes down stream are the systems back to normal yet or still dry?

I'm pretty sure most places east of Abilene are out of the drought or REALLY close to it. I know there is a drought monitor website out there that they take ground saturation, water shed, reservoir levels etc to figure drought rating. If I can find it I'll post it.

West Tx is dry and will always be dry. It has periods of wet weather but its an arid region. If it wasn't, it would look like east Tx...

As much as I am somewhat tired of rain we still need all we can get. I cant find the article but it basically said that we will be in a El Nino for the next 90 days or so and then we wil slowly start moving back to La Nina and back to dry spell.

We have had 4" but unfortunately not where we needed it. The ground is saturated so all we need is one big rain and we could get some water in the lake.

I know this is Texas and alot of people dont like droughts (me included) but this is the one time where it is ok to say we dont need anymore rain, reguardless of what the future holds. No one can predict La Nina or El Nino. For all we know next year could have an even stronger El Nino.
