This jig is 2 (ish) years old, don't have a new one tied. Even though it's in rough shape, you get the idea. It's hard to beat this small jig on a finicky bite. Also love orange or red head on chartreuse yellow body and tail. 16th oz or 32nd during the cold months for me (till prespawn, at least). Good thread idea, Redgun.

REDGUN, that bottom jig in the 2nd photo is a goodun! These 2 were my biggest sellers & for me & several others caught more fish from late Fall through pre spawn than any other jig i tie. The Grape Limeade is on track to duplicate that again this year. The Joe Dirt doesn't get super hot until the water temp drops into & stays in the 50's but it is beginning to produce. Then the Lake Palestine Special came in a close Third last Winter.

Pepop, I remember your Joe Dirt being "THE" jig last winter. I got some pheasant feathers a couple of weeks ago and tried to make something similar to try...

Redgun- I really like those jigs. Beautiful work! Do you remember if any particular feather out-fished the others?
I often fish with a few ETX crappiemen... yesterday one of them told me about and showed me a brown jig they wore out fish on Joe Pool with. He tried the same jig here and didn't get a bite. I think the diversity of effective baits (from lake to lake) sure makes jig fishing fun.
I used to prefer plastics over hand tieds and I believe it's because I didn't have enough variation in my jig bag.

Mr Jerry, If you are referring to the pheasant jigs, I have not gotten them wet yet. If your friends caught fish on a brown jig last year, It was very likely Pepop's "Joe Dirt". That jig was tearing them up!!!

Nice looking jigs REDGUN! I actually just don't fish in winter, but kind of think this one may float the boat? Skip
