Myself,Mike "USMC-GY",Fred "Rionator" and Matt "Southtexasduckman" fished the Guadalupe River the other day. We started out looking for big Sunfish (Bluegill/Redear) and ended up finding a mess of Crappie. We fished from 7:30am till 3pm and had non stop action. Boated over 100 fish. We released most of em but kept some for the frying pan. Fish were located in 8 to 16 feet of water by overhanging tree limbs and drop offs. Jigs,Chartreuse/Pink and Green/Purple were the baits of choice. The sunnies were hitting worms and small jigs and were located in water 3 to 6 feet deep close to the bank by tree over hangs. Fishing the Guadalupe River with friends. It just don't get any better! fish

Great job, looks like some non-stop fun. Just curious, did the crappie hit a worm first causing you to switch to jigs or were you throwing some jigs targeting the sunfish? All the times I've had that happen, I didn't know the crappie were in there, all the sudden one hits a worm and you switch over and yank em out.

One word Chuck! "AWESOME". Good job guys. It is going to be a super Crappie bite once it gets colder.

Side Note: Bite has been off this week. Have you been east lately?

The Crappie and Big Redear will be getting active for sure after this latest cold front! Will be fishing this upcoming Monday and Tuesday! I agree this last warm spell did nothing at all to help the bite!
