Myself and Mike "USMC-GY" fished some local creeks and the bite was ON FIRE! We fished from 10am till 2pm and caught well over 75 fish. Fish were very active a head of this upcoming COLD front. We caught a nice variety of Bluegill,Redear,Redbreast,Longear,Greens,Bass, and a few Rios. The fish were all healthy and full of fight. All were released to fight again. The creeks are in excellent condition with good current. The water was clear. Fish were caught in 3 to 5 feet of water and were holding by trees and grass beds. Winter is approaching soon and the creek bite will be SLOWING down as far as the sunfish bite goes. After an early day of fishing we grabbed a snack and the local Jack In the Box. Spending some time catching some nice creek sunnies. It just don't get any better! fish

Good job! When the creek fishing slows we will just have to hit the deep water. Hopefully they will be biting somewhere all winter.

Nice fish as always Chuck. Creek fishing has been good to you guys this year. Are the creeks still producing Rios? Gonna be getting a super blast of cold air this weekend. Major cold front. I figure the creek bite will be slowing down some.

Thanks "Gitter" and "chas1" for the replies. cheers So far there has not been any real periods of cold weather. hmmm Fish are still in fall patterns trying to store food before the cold winter sets in. eeks I have noticed a slight slow down in the creek bite however it picks up during the warm spells. breakdance Winter forecast says wet/cold. nuts

Starting to get some more cold fronts coming in. We have two coming in the next seven days. Looks like winter is right around the corner.

Thanks Curtis for the reply! cheers Hopefully the Rios will return to the Salado. Several years ago you could hit the Salado any time during late spring all the way through early October and catch 50 of em any given day. When the Ft. Sam Spring was turned off the Rios vanished. Now that the spring has been turned back on and the creek is up hopefully the Rios will return. thumb
