Look at the other thread, and read a couple of reports...

"Lake Welsh Map" might be of assistance for Monti info.

Hit the timber and throw a trap. When you find one S L O W way down with a lightly weighted black worm.

It wasn't a 'look it up' brush-off, it was a recent report, from me...

If you want just a large grouping of small fish, and an every cast fish, head to the dam with a bluish-Shad colored drop-shot rig from the dam out to about 12 foot.

There is a secondary return of some BIG looking fish at 18-25 foot. I Didn't target them, but you might want to spend some time on those deep fish (unless they're all catfishes).

Use to fish it at night past the bridge and back in the stumps. We heated 12" black worms and stretched them out to about 16". Love that lake at night but be prepared to get high centered every now and then.

Just got back from Monti an hour ago.. water level looks like it has dropped a foot since I was there Friday. Spent most of the day in the pads. Slow going for most of the day, much like Friday. Lost a couple of good ones that wrapped me quick and shook off, throwing hollow belly on flashy swimmer, caught one good one on spinner bait in 4 feet of water in the pads in the afternoon as the bite definitely picked up for me. Nothing on flutter spoon or crankbaits which I gave up on early once I made it to the shallows.

Last Friday pic above

Today

Still one beautiful sight when the sun comes up at the ramp.

I would stay in the greenest pads I can find.

Looks like they have stopped draining water, should be just below pool.
I've had great luck with drop shots using red worms,,

They had booms and construction-looking equipment around the first gate at the dam. They may have been doing some work on it...

When I get back out there, I'll try red again, but I couldn't get them to really eat the tomatoe - Purple Fleck last weekend.
