Hello my name is Nicholas Kissam I have been developing
A shallow water anchor. The unit here in this video uses a 500lb force
Electric design. Also it is self contained no pumps motors or other items
are needed just a 12v battery. This is being developed at Magna/lock systems
And will be sold as a kit so you will have to assemble your self. The unit in the video
Is a prototype and the finale design will be much more appealing to the consumer.
The anchor will weigh in under 25pounds and will be available in 7 or 9 feet.
Will have a price in the 350-450 range. The anchor is made of t6061 aluminum
And uses stainless steel hardware with a fiberglass stake that is super durable and almost unbreakable.

Thank you

Here is the new and revised version much faster and this unit is
9 feet in total.. This version is what the finished product will be designed off.
This is 2-3/4 in width an 7 inches tall. Also this unit does not have its covers on it.
The covers are rounded U.H.W plastic and will protect it from damage against trees
Stumps,Docks,etc...

Please keep the feedback coming and let me know who is interested in a
Unit.

I'm wondering how the deploy speed compares to the Power Pole? Also, does it not fold up completely as the Power Pole does? I'm not looking for it to have all the features an actual Power Pole does at the price point you are targeting but what kind of mounting system are you going to offer etc? Or is that up to the consumer to figure out? Are you offering a controller to go with it or just simple up down switches?

Hello thank you for the feedback.. And yes it does fold up completely
And it will have both options wireless remote and simple switch.
Mounting will be utilized with the same mounting as a other comparable
Shallow water anchor.

Good idea and nice price point...there a couple of concerns I have

1. The noise of the electric motor
2. The speed of the arm

Thank you for sharing your ingenuity.

The speed of the arm is under 10sec for deployment on version 2.
Now with the noise I see your concern and will be correcting this problem.
Also the speed is dramatically faster with a real battery the test videos. We are using a
12v drill battery which doesn't have near the current that is recommended.

Are you looking for anyone to do some beta testing? I'd be willing to do so.

Also, to get the full usable length of the pole, at some point the motor unit will have to be submerged. Unless you have a way of covers sealing the motor from water, is the motor and drive unit fully submersible for extended lengths of time?

Nicholas this is definitely not a bad idea. Especially if you can keep it al this price point. These were some things I was thinking about that I had concerns with. Keep it up and hopefully this will bring another great idea out into the market.

Lol haulinbass02.... Maybe considering the testing and will let you know..
Yes the motor is submersible up to 3 feet.

I am enjoying and adapting to the strong feedback and concerns
Thanks to everyone that is considering a purchase of the unit and as soon
As my plastic mold gets here the units will be available for purchase.

I'll be watching. That price point gives us with old smaller boats a PP that we can use that doesn't cost more than my boat is worth.

Hahaha....well Bobby would the smaller boat community want a smaller pole?

I say this because my design group along with the feedback put me in a market
Where I was considering a 5-6 foot pole. Basically just scaling down the size of this anchor.

Another idea I was considering is where the buy has a choice of
What length and mounting options he or she may need.
I could do this for praticily no charge. The only down side to this
Concept would be a longer wait time to recive the anchor.

Please let us know if this would be perfered over having set lengths.

Thank you
Nicholas Kissam

You might have a market for some if there was a shorter unit and a lower price but for me, I'd prefer the longest pole available. If I couldn't hold in about 7-8' of water then it wouldn't really make sense for me to purchase. Some mounting options would be nice

Since it's an actuator/motor drive, you should have some form of pressure sensor feedback to stop the motor from driving once the anchor has touched bottom. Kinda like the Talon.

Also. I don't think you can use the term Power Pole. just sayin"
