Put in at Highway 16 Bridge below Possum Kingdom on the Brazos. Paddled up to the fishing hole below the dam and lucked in to a couple of fish. This one insisted he have his picture made with me. Caught him on a fly rod out of the Yak and he put up a very good fight. After a hard paddle against the wind going back to the truck we were tuckered out and hungry. When I am hungry and that close to Strawn, Texas, I know of no better place to eat than Mary's Cafe. If you haven't eaten at Mary's in Strawn you are missing some of the best Chicken Fried Steak around. Just don't order a "large" chicken fried steak unless you are planning to take some home. Those things are huge!

Have a Happy Thanksgiving!!

Great stuff! Grew up in zephyr I'm very familiar with six man country. Just still scratching my head on how I learned how to fly fish(limb lines and trot lines don't quite translate) lol. Hey cowtown have a great thanksgiving. Rain permitting you need to look into going to the Sabine for gigantic sandbass in February with us this year. I'm sure 2flyfish4 will tell you I wussed out last year lol. Conditions sucked! (He got on a few good ones). But we yak up and hit giant sandies on the fly. Great fish man!

Another lousy day in paradise...

Hooking a fish is like playing string with a cat. The exact size, shape, color of string matters less than how you wiggle it- and little cats are easier to fool than big ones. John Gierach
